Attention & Meta-Awareness
From distraction to steadiness: training sustained and flexible attention, cultivating insight into thoughts and feelings as transient phenomena, and mapping their neural–behavioral signatures.
We study cognition not only as neural processing, but as a gateway to the infinite spiritual potential present in every person. By cultivating and measuring higher faculties—clarity, compassion, equanimity, intuition— we seek to understand how supra-mundane resources can uplift individual lives and benefit the world.
Our work bridges rigorous inquiry with lived practice. We investigate how attention, perception, memory, emotion, and meta-awareness can be refined through ethical living, contemplative training, and devotional sentiment—unlocking latent spiritual capacities that guide prosocial behavior, creativity, and resilient wellbeing. We call these capacities the mind’s supra-mundane resources: subtle yet trainable qualities that orient human life toward purpose and service.
